RESEARCH AND DATA

There are many citizens who have begun to adopt green-friendly behavior to contribute to the fight against climate change. One of the most adopted precautions is to buy products with recycled packaging.

A survey on the matter was carried out by Pro Carton, the European association of cardboard producers, which involved more than 5,000 European consumers.

According to the analysis, Italians are the most likely in Europe to change their preferences in terms of product packaging to make a contribution to the environment.

68% of Italians proved to be sensitive, informed and interested in environmental issues. 56% said they were concerned about the environmental impact of plastic packaging and 79% of those interviewed consider it essential to make an effort to stop the damage caused by climate change.

THE PREFERENCES OF THE ITALIAN CONSUMERS

87% of the consumers interviewed prefer a product packaged in cardboard rather than plastic, 57% affirm that the use of natural and renewable materials is the future and 31% say that they have reduced the use of artificial materials.

In short, Italian consumers demonstrate considerable ecological awareness and prefer to direct their choices towards products packaged in a sustainable way. Hence the importance, on the corporate side, of responding adequately to this need which is now increasingly felt and important for the environment.
