A pioneer of Italian industry, Paolo Cassoli was an enlightened man and entrepreneur, dedicated to innovation and the growth of the Cassoli Group and packaging.

Paolo Cassoli a man of action

With deep sorrow, the Cassoli Group announces the passing of Paolo Cassoli, founder and President, a central figure in the Italian mechanical industry and a man of extraordinary humanity.

Born in 1933, Paolo Cassoli showed a strong talent for invention from a very young age: in 1949, at just 16 years old, he filed his first patent, a device for stretching clotheslines on terraces. From that first gesture began a long journey of innovation, which would leave its mark on the history of packaging in Italy.

In 1964 he founded Cassoli Macchine Automatiche, creating the first Italian machine for packaging multiple packs of toilet rolls in a garage. That machine, the RA/CI, is now preserved at the Museum of Industrial Heritage in Bologna.

Alongside his son Stefano, Paolo Cassoli has guided the growth of the group until it became a solid reality, with over 250 employees and numerous international patents. Today the Cassoli Group, which includes Ecocap’s, CPS Company and NEMA by CPS Company, is led forward with the same spirit of innovation and respect for people by his daughter-in-law Maddalena and his grandchildren Marco and Jacopo.

A life between business and humanity

An avant-garde entrepreneur, Paolo Cassoli has always been able to anticipate the needs of the market, dictating standards even before they were requested. But it is above all as a man that he has left a profound mark, thanks to the authentic bond with the territory of Casalecchio and with the company, for his large family.

He was also a man of passions: he loved the sea, boats, and his inseparable pipe, an ever-present companion in moments of reflection.

Paolo is reunited with his wife Paola and his son Stefano, leaving a legacy made not only of innovation, but above all of values, vision and humanity. He leaves behind his daughter-in-law Maddalena, his grandchildren Jacopo and Marco with their respective wives Vanessa and Francesca, and his great-grandchildren Tommaso, Eleonora and Arianna.

The entire Cassoli Group gathers affectionately around his family, grateful for the example and inspiration that will continue to live on in every project, in every person and in every idea that bears his name.
